Early Spring at AYC

Can you feel that spring in the air? Our favorite groundhog, Woodstock Willie, has predicted an early spring and we're here for it! We're ringing in springtime early with the return of the ApalachiCares Fresh Market on Monday, February 16th from 4-6pm! Featuring organic produce, pasture raised meats, fresh seafood, homemade baked goods, local artisans, live music, and so much more. Live music on the mainstage by Marilyn & Tyler Freeman! They're no strangers to the AYC scene and beloved by many. If you haven't had the opportunity to hear this lovely duo, you're in for a treat! Bask in a little residual Valentine's magic with these lovebirds and let their sweet harmonies and melodies take you on a journey. Stop by Taqueria de Apalach for lunch 12-3pm or dinner 5-9pm!

SINGO — everyone's new favorite national drinking pastime that's all the rage — is back with local Emmy Award nominated Singer Songwriter, Clayton Mathis, on Tuesday, February 17th from 6-8pm. Go ahead and mark every Tuesday in your calendar as Singo night! It's just as simple as it sounds: music bingo. Instead of listening for numbers, you're listening to your favorite tunes! There's only one rule for playing this game: HAVE FUN! Stop by Taqueria de Apalach for lunch 12-3pm or dinner 5-9pm.

Celebrate this glorious weather on the front lawn with RiverDog Yoga hosted by Yogi Connie Sams on Wednesday, February 18th from 5:30-6:30pm. This active vinyasa flow is open to all levels and will make you get down, up, and down again while you laugh, play, and cultivate your own yogi strength. $15 gets you all the good vibes you can soak up, plus an additional $2 off a beverage of your choice before, after, or during class! Taqueria de Apalach will be open for lunch 12-3pm and dinner 5-9pm.

We've got a bonus performance this week — the machine himself, Terry Towe, takes the AYC stage by storm on Wednesday, February 18th from 6-9pm for a one-of-a-kind performance. Hailing from just outside the Bay area of California, Terry made Franklin County his home many, many moons ago. Cultivating his vocal talents for decades, Terry brings raw passion as tribute to the songs near and dear to his (and our) hearts. Don't miss the debut of a Franklin County legend at AYC!

Get ready for another installment of Songwriters in the Round on Thursday, February 19th from 6-9pm! This week brings Greg Brown, David Pucik, & Pat Puckett. Greg Brown is a Tallahassee based singer/songwriter and guitar player inspired by old school country, bluegrass, and American folk music. Drinking songs and songs about tough times. Dave Pucik writes and performs dynamic, confessional indie folk songs. Based in Tallahassee, Pucik has lived all over the South. For the last two decades, he has worked to apply the transparency, interconnectedness to the familiar themes of the American singer-songwriter tradition as well as the heartache of modern life. After two decades of writing and performing, those efforts are approaching maturation with an emotive power that connects viscerally with listeners. Pat Puckett debuts on the AYC stage, but he is no stranger to the music scene! Born in Louisville Ky. A member of the Tallahassee music scene since 1984 starting as a member of the Casual T’s. Touring guitarist for Alejandro Escovedo and others. Pat has shared the stage with hundreds of national acts such as Levon Helm, Evan Dando and The Old 97’s. Whether playing solo acoustic or rave up electric with his band Puckett brings dedication to craft and honesty through his songs. His records Kantine and All That Love Could Do Was Done are available through cdBaby , Itunes and on Spotify.
