We've got a surprise pop-up addition to our Songwriters in the Round series! Clayton Mathis brings Dana Hunt Black and Jeff Silvey to the AYC stage on Wednesday, February 11th from 6-8pm. Dana Hunt Black, a North Carolina native, began her journey as a songwriter in Nashville in 1993. Dana has written a number of songs recorded by George Strait, including two of his biggest hits “Check Yes or No” and “Write This Down”, both of which went on to become ASCAP Song of the Year. She also helped launch Gary Allan’s career writing his first giant hit “It Would Be You”. Indiana native, Jeff Silvey, a two-time winner of the ICA Producer of the Year for his work with Kali Rose, joined his first Gospel Quartet at the age of 14. His most notable accomplishments to date include earning four RIAA-certified Gold and two RIAA-certified Platinum albums in the Christian music industry, as well as four RIAA-certified Gold and one RIAA-certified Platinum singles in the Country music industry.
Hope you enjoyed the pregame last night! Singer Songwriter Night brings Greg Brown and Jessica Bellaire on Thursday, February 12th from 6-9pm. No stranger to the AYC stage, Greg Brown plucks American folk, bluegrass, and old school country inspired songs. Give a warm welcome to 2024 Banjo Champion, Jessica Bellaire! A banjo player, guitarist, singer, and dancer, Jessica Bellaire has a deep love for old-time music and the communities that sustain it.
One banjo is never enough. Flathead Stringband is heating it up on Friday, February 13th from 7-10pm! The Flathead String Band is committed to bringing high energy old-time music to the Southeast. Both band members hail from North Florida. Haden Macbeth plays mandolin/fiddle/guitar and Chris Matechik plays banjo! Come dance a jig when they tear it up as they return to Apalachicola, and our hearts.
AYC Commodore Clayton Mathis drops the landing gear on stage accompanied by Joe Davies for a little daytime fun on Saturday, February 14th from 3-5pm. It's an afternoon of mostly original music, weaving words of hard times, failed politicians promises, darkness, and hanging out with Jesus into rather uncomplicated 3-4 chord songs. The Apalachicola Sound takes the stage for date night on Saturday, February 14th from 7-10pm! Apalachicola Sound explores the boundaries of red dirt country, southern rock, and boot scootin' boogie, with powerful vocals, and stirring lyrics. It's always a raucous party with an all-star lineup like this!
BUT WAIT — THERE'S MORE!
SUNDAY FUNDAY! Catch the Bo Spring Band on Sunday, February 15th from 2-5pm! The Club doors open at 12pm and close with the band's curtain call at 5pm. Bo earned his guitar and vocal chops playing in Atlanta with blues legends and hosting the infamous Northside Tavern's Monday night open jams. Bo met his wife Lauren while performing with a band opening for Willie Nelson in 2001 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. Gigging along the Gulf Coast, their audiences can expect harmony packed songs that span the genres from bluegrass to rock.
See y'all at the Club!
