SINGO — everyone's new favorite national drinking pastime that's all the rage — is back with local thespian, Nick Avossa, on Tuesday, March 3rd from 6-8pm. Go ahead and mark every Tuesday in your calendar as Singo night! It's just as simple as it sounds: music bingo. Instead of listening for numbers, you're listening to your favorite tunes! We're bringing back the Adult Spelling Bee on Wednesday, March 4th from 6-8pm! Last fall, we had some off-off-the-wall fun with a back to school twist in the style to benefit the Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library. The rules are simple: contestants pay a $10 entry fee and battle it out while receiving two life lines: phone a friend or consult the audience. All entry fees and donations will support the Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library and their wonderful programming! Not your speed? Yogi Connie Sams is hosting RiverDog Yoga from 6-7pm. This active vinyasa flow is open to all levels and will make you get down, up, and down again while you laugh, play, and cultivate your own yogi strength. $15 gets you all the good vibes you can soak up, plus an additional $2 off a beverage of your choice before, after, or during class! Taqueria de Apalach will be open for lunch 12-3pm and dinner 5-9pm.
It's time for another installment of AYC's critically acclaimed Songwriters in the Round series on Thursday, March 5th from 6-9pm! Our featured artists are none other than Nick Carter, MJ Bishop, and Bobby Pennock! This week, you'll be treated by these accomplished singer songwriters as they weave tales of their own musical journeys, carving their stories out of harmony and old folk melody. When it's over, you won't be able to help but ask yourself: how did they do that?
Finally Friday! Specifically, First Friday — you know that means: HOT MESS! They're taking the stage and shaking things up on Friday, March 6th from 6-9pm. Get down with the neighborhood to some zydeco swamp, rock, and americana.
Head on over to the Chili Cook off on St. George Island to support the SGI Volunteer Fire Department! Hop back over for some daytime tunes by Boo Radley on Saturday, March 7th from 3-5pm. Patty and Michael's originals highlight the songwriting skills and true passions of the acoustic duo. Meaningful lyrics, high-quality, well-rehearsed vocal harmonies, and Turner’s intricate playing on his warm, full-bodied acoustic guitar set Boo Radley apart. Chicken Phat is cranking up the heat on Saturday, March 7th from 7-10pm! Mikey and the gang are cooking up some of that finger lickin' good rock and roll from the 90's and 2000's, with some delicious surprises sprinkled here and there.
See y'all at the Club!
