42nd Annual SGI Chili Cookoff Weekend at the Apalachicola Yacht Club

Ahoy, Mateys!

2024 is stacked back to back to back with killer community events, and this weekend it's time for yet another beloved local fundraiser: the 42nd Annual SGI Chili Cookoff benefitting the St. George Island Fire Department.

Start your week off the right way and join us for Go with the Flow Yoga on Monday, February 26th from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Go with the Flow is an active vinyasa flow that'll make you get down, up, and down again while you laugh, play, and cultivate your own yogi strength. $15 gets you all the good vibes you can soak up, plus an additional $2 off a beverage of your choice before, after, or during class!

SINGO — everyone's new favorite national drinking pastime and that's all the new rage — is back again on Tuesday, February 27th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Go ahead and mark every Tuesday in your calendar as Singo night! It's just as simple as it sounds: music bingo. Instead of listening for numbers, you're listening to your favorite tunes! There's only one rule for playing this game: HAVE FUN!

For this week's installment of Singer Songwriter night, we'll be welcoming Bronwyn Chelette & Friends on Thursday, February 29th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Bronwyn Chelette debuts on the AYC stage with friends Shanice Richards, expert fiddler and singer, and Jack Straub, professional bassist and budding banjo player (who you may also remember from his stellar performance with JC & The Backscratchers). While this trio invites music to be an expression of personal experience beyond genre, expect influences from jazz, old time blues, folk rock, and more!

Lo and behold, it's First Friday again! Prepare to get groovy as Hot Mess returns for their residency Friday, March 1st from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. These local cats play the meanest zydeco swamp pop rock fusion that'll make you want to boogie all night long. You can't ask for a better Chili Cookoff pregame backdrop!

After eating your fill of award winning chili at the 42nd Annual SGI Chili Cookoff, truck it back across the bridges for an extra special treat. Gulf County's own Bo Spring debuts his renowned talents Saturday, March 2nd crooning solo from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on the AYC stage for some easy listening roots, folk, and americana. Bo earned his guitar and vocal chops playing with blues legends in Atlanta and hosting the infamous Northside Tavern's Monday night open jams, and has become a household name on 30A following the success of the Bo Spring Band. The party doesn't stop there — Panama City is in the house! The Corey Hall Trio rolls into town Saturday, March 2nd from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Sparks fly as Northwest Florida championship blues duo, Corey Hall and Matt Law, bend their guitars and combine forces with percussionist Kyle Whitmore to electrify the room with white hot blues, southern roots, and folk music.
